About Us
Australia Bharatha Brahmin Samaj (ABBS) – Our Vedic Journey, Our Dharma, Our Future
Australia Bharatha Brahmin Samaj (ABBS) was founded in 2014 by Vasan Srinivasan and Shri Sriraman, following extensive community consultation and feedback. ABBS was established with a clear vision: to bring together Brahmins from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, transcending regional, linguistic and cultural differences, while celebrating our shared Vedic heritage, spiritual traditions, values and way of life.
At the heart of ABBS is the timeless Vedic principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family. Our traditions teach us that knowledge, Dharma, devotion, service and compassion are not merely practices, but responsibilities that must be passed from one generation to the next.
Over the past 12 years, with the generous support and participation of our families and wider community, ABBS has nurtured a vibrant spiritual and cultural journey through regular monthly Bhajans, Diwali celebrations, Hindu New Year celebrations, Sri Perumal Thirukalyanam, Sri Sathyanarayana Pooja, Ayyappa Pooja and Yajur Upakarma, along with other religious and cultural activities.
These gatherings are much more than events. They are occasions to pray together, learn together, celebrate our Sanatana Dharma together and create bonds between generations. They give our children an opportunity to experience our mantras, rituals, music, traditions, festivals and spiritual values in Australia, so that our rich heritage does not simply remain in our memories, but continues to live through the next generation.
An Open and Welcoming Hindu Community
Everyone who shares an interest in our Sanatana Dharma is warmly encouraged to join our Bhajans, Poojas, festivals, rituals and cultural celebrations freely, in a spirit of devotion, respect and unity.
We believe that the beauty of our Hindu tradition lies in its diversity and its inclusive spirit. There are many paths, traditions and forms of worship, yet they can lead us towards the same higher spiritual purpose
Our Dharma – Our Responsibility
As we look towards the future, ABBS seeks to build an even stronger and more inclusive community founded upon Dharma, Seva, Samskara and Sanskruti — righteousness, service, values and culture.
Our greatest legacy will not be the events we conduct today, but the values, knowledge and spiritual foundation we leave with our children tomorrow.
Let us come together in the spirit of “Sangachhadhwam, Samvadadhwam” — let us walk together and speak together, strengthening our community while contributing positively to the wider Australian multicultural society.
Let us preserve our heritage.
Let us nurture our children.
Let us serve our community.
Let us live our Dharma.
Let us welcome all who wish to walk this spiritual journey with us.
Let us build ABBS together for generations to come.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti !
